Pewee Valley

Pewee Valley

Overview

A 1.2-square-mile city on Oldham County's western edge, mixing Victorian-era homes, cottages and newer builds just past the Jefferson County line.

Housing & Architecture

A mix of Victorian-era homes dating to the town's 1850s founding, mid-century cottages, and newer construction on wooded lots. The whole city covers about 1.2 square miles, so inventory is limited and listings can be sparse.

Schools

Served by Oldham County Schools, with several private and parochial options in the immediate area. Current performance data for each public school is published on the Kentucky School Report Card.

Commute & Transit

About 25 minutes to downtown Louisville via KY 146 to I-71, or the Gene Snyder Freeway (I-265). Public transit is limited to a single TARC express route from a park-and-ride in nearby Crestwood, so plan on driving.

Lifestyle & Character

Suited to those who want a very small historic town with quick access to the Gene Snyder and I-71. Central Park has walking paths and wetland viewing areas, and the Little Colonel Playhouse, running since 1963, anchors a calendar that includes summer concerts, a Cruise-In and the annual Yule Log Celebration.
