What to Expect
Utilities
Water and trash are often included in apartment complexes. In single-family rentals or duplexes, tenants usually pay all utilities (LG&E for gas/electric, Louisville Water).
Pets
Louisville is very dog-friendly. Most places allow pets but expect a non-refundable deposit ($200-$400) and monthly pet rent ($25-$50).
Lease Terms
Standard leases are 12 months. Short-term leases are available but often come with a 10-20% premium.

- Old Louisville: Famous for massive Victorian mansions converted into apartments. Beautiful but check for modern heating/cooling.

- Butchertown/NuLu: Trendy, industrial-chic lofts. More expensive but close to the action.
- Lyndon/Middletown: Large apartment complexes with pools and gyms. quieter, suburban feel.
